Abstract
A fast and accurate CAD tool for synthesizing layered cylindrical dielectric lenses has been developed. It is based on the G1DMULT and PSO algorithms, and is able to optimize the lens and feed configurations. The relevance of our optimization algorithm was assessed using in-house FDTD tools and commercial softwares. The agreement between these approaches is very good. Several lens antennas have been designed at 10 GHz. The prototypes are under fabrication.
