Abstract

Some important issues in the design and implementation a distributed phased array that employs wireless beamforming were presented. A two element demonstration array was built and tested to validate critical concepts, and to develop array signal processing and controller software. The critical concepts include wireless phase synchronization using a remote local oscillator (LO) beacon, and wireless transfer of baseband data between the elements and controller.
