  • Abstract
A numerical scheme that combines the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) and the characteristics basis function method (CBFM) has been developed for the analysis of holographic antennas and other finite-sized multilayered periodic structures. The approach permits the analysis of structures modeled by parametric surfaces. Using these surfaces, the discretization, basis and test functions are conformed to any curved surface, with the advantage of an exact representation of the geometry. The approach has been implemented in moment method code MONURBS. The method has been tested considering several periodic structures achieving good results.
