Abstract :
Temperature distribution in power sandwich transducers was determined experimentally and calculated numerically using the boundary element method (BEM). The main advantage of the BEM compared with the finite-element and finite-difference methods is reduction of the number of unknowns. Steady-state surface temperatures determined from calculations were compared to actual measurements. Such studies make it possible to design a correct transducer and to obtain more power without additional cooling
