Title :
Low frequency electromagnetic design-from microns to kilometres
Author_Institution :
Vector Fields Ltd., Oxford, UK
Abstract :
Low frequency electromagnetic CAD packages are now frequently used for smaller components allowing the designer to construct prototypes that machining and material costs would have prohibited previously. The author looks at the structure of electromagnetic CAD packages and whether to design the device in 2 or 3 dimensions. Virtual prototyping in a WIMP (window, icon, menu, pointer) environment is also described. Future trends are discussed
