Abstract :
Describes the design of an RF-on-wafer (RFOW) testable MMIC-based dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO) utilised within a single chip MMIC DBS low noise downconverter (LNC). The LNC is required to cover the RF band of 10.95-12.7 GHz, with IF output in the range 0.95-1.7 GHz. The DRO local oscillator (LO) is purposely designed to cover a wider band than the necessary 10-11 GHz to allow downconverter operation over a wider range, albeit with reduced performance
