Abstract :
Reports the phase noise characteristics of a 100 MHz ECL direct digital synthesiser that produces a close to carrier phase noise profile comparable to the very best oscillators, e.g. -120 dBc/Hz at 10 Hz offset from a 5.85 MHz carrier. In addition, from the measured results, a relationship is established between the phase noise profile of the synthesised waveform and the phase noise profile of the clock source used
