Abstract
To ensure reliable and economic operation of electric power systems under deregulation, timely estimation of electric load profiles is extremely important. The statistical properties of electric loads allow estimation using blind source separation. This paper presents estimation of electric load profiles using an on-line Independent Component Analysis algorithm with an adaptive learning parameter. Computer simulation results and performance of the estimations are discussed.
