Abstract :
Based on Maxwell´s equations, the mathematical formulation for the equivalent-circuit model of PCBs are discussed. A numerical methodology is presented for the extraction of capacitances and inductances of this model. The methodology combines the integral equation technique and the exponential expansion method. The exponential expansion method is employed for the evaluation of the scalar potential and the vector potential, resulting in a rapid and accurate extraction of the capacitances and inductances for PCBs.
