Abstract
An RF power transmission system consisting of a MOSFET DC-to-RF inverter, a pair of power transmission coils, and a rectifier is presented. A single ended DC-to-RF MOSFET inverter was built for driving the RF power transmission system which can transmit high frequency power through an insulation layer. The high frequency power is supplied to the power transmission coils consisting or a primary power transmission coil and a secondary power transmission coil. As a result of electromagnetic interaction between the primary and secondary power transmission coils through an air gap, an induced voltage at high frequency is generated across the secondary power transmission coil. The high frequency output voltage of the secondary power transmission coil is rectified by the rectifier, and the DC output power of the rectifier is supplied to various apparatuses. Since this RF power transmission system has a capability to transmit the RF power without any electrical contact, this system can transmit the RF power through the insulation layer. A glass plate, a plastic plate, or a wood plate as well as an air gap is used as the insulation layer
