Abstract :
The authors look at the design and construction of the new electromagnetic launcher facility at Kirkcudbright for the joint UK-US development programme into EM launch technology. The facility uses 32 MJ 11 kV capacitive storage for pulsed power which is based on the Thunderbolt system in the USA. The launcher and monitoring systems are described in less detail
