  • Abstract
Owing to the limited transmit powers of mobiles, the coverage of macrocellular radio systems is governed by the uplink. In this communication, the coverage of a macrocellular radio system deploying the recently proposed multicarrier joint detection code division multiple access (MC/JD-CDMA) is analyzed. We set out from the uplink minimally allowed mean received power Pe, min which is required to comply with a given quality of service (QoS) criterion. With Pe, min and a given transmit power Ps, the maximally allowed path loss amax and the maximum average cell radius ρ0, max are determined
