  • Abstract
In rat monoarticular arthritis, radiographic change is highly reproducible. To avoid the problems of subjective scoring, the authors have developed computerised image analysis (IA) methods to measure different aspects of radiographic pathology. IA of clinical radiographs is also used for the accurate, sensitive and reproducible measurement of knee joint space. The authors have extended this to measure joint space in fingers, including the metacarpophalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joints
