Abstract
The cutoff frequencies of heteromophic waveguide in a special structure is solved with the matching of the electric and magnetic field on the virtual boundary by partial differential operator theory. The method can be used to not only for solving the cutoff frequencies of almost all modes precisely and expediently, but also for calculating the transmitting characteristics of a ridged waveguide and the other heteromophic waveguide loaded by a rectangular metal.
