Abstract
This paper describes a novel application of a circular array for the central antenna of base/repeater stations in mobile radio communication systems. The antenna is fed from a multiple port feed network which offers a number of omnidirectional coverage patterns which remain electrically independent. This provides isolation between multiple transmitters and receivers. The experimental results presented suggest at least 30dB isolation can be achieved over an octave bandwidth.
