Abstract
The compound muscle action potential (CMAP) is a sum of motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) of all motor units (MUs) in the muscle. The authors present a model to relate the CMAP waveform measurements (such as the mean square value, amplitude, etc.) to those of the individual MUAPs through a phase interaction term. The significance of this term is demonstrated in estimating the number of MUs
