Abstract
A micromirror based laser vector scanning Head-up Display (HUD) system for automotive applications is presented. A 2D non-resonant micromiorror is used for fast steering of a laser beam to generate patterns showing the speed information, which could be either displayed as a virtual image in front of the vehicle or projected on the windshield. An open-loop control algorithm is developed to control the micromirror. A prototype of the HUD system is developed and tested.
