Abstract
This paper describes the structure of a transputer-based laboratory flight simulator designed to ease the development cycle of experimental flight control laws. The core of the system is designed to be flexible and maintainable, and offers easy access to users implementing new aircraft models and control systems. The system may be run in nonreal-time on a single processor, or in real-time using as many processors as required to achieve the necessary frame rate. In this way, controllers and aircraft models of almost arbitrary complexity and frame rate can be simulated
