Abstract
In this paper, using macroscopic features, integrative features of images, the characteristics of multi-temporal data and image processing, the author interprets the image features of the Yi-shu fault zone. The author analyses the activity features of the lineaments combined with physical exploration, earthquake data and the regional stress field, then discusses the relationship of the lineament activity and earthquakes and points to the activity of Yi-shu fault zone as a cause of the appearance and activity of 2 groups of faults, NW trending and near NS trending. Their intersection is related to volcanic eruptions and earthquake origin.
