Abstract
A multilayered fully integrated left-handed coplanar waveguide metamaterial medium for high resistivity Silicon MMIC applications is presented for the first time. The left-handedness of the structure is validated by full wave simulation and measurement results, showing left-handed bandwidth from 2.8 GHz to 15.26 GHz. The reported multilayered structure consists of six left-handed unit cells and has a size of 1.81 mm2. The super compactness of the structure makes this multilayer technique well suited to RF/microwave MMIC fabrication.
