Abstract :
It has been proved, in this paper, that the average signal levels with vertical polarisation are higher than horizontal ones, by solving the diffraction field over multiple wedges, diffraction through symmetrical edges such as doorways or windows, and by experiments performed (at 5.3 GHz) in corridors. From the reflection and diffraction points of view, some useful conclusions have been obtained, which will be helpful in understanding the propagation mechanisms in mobile micro- and pico-cellular communications.
