Abstract
Discusses LIVE-NET a broadband fibre-optic communications network linking the major Schools of the University of London (UCL, Imperial, Kings, QMW and RHBNC) and the Polytechnic of Central London (PCL). The network is derived from the switched star technology developed by BT Martlesham for the Westminster Cable Network. The network carries multiple television and data channels which can be configured very flexibly for a wide range of applications
