Abstract
Space communication systems are suffered by complexity resulting in limited access to orbiting satellites and high mission operation costs that ultimately reduce mission turn over and capabilities. In particular, ground stations suffer from a uniform design and reliability issues that raise engineering complexity and obstacles. We have reduced these obstacles by designing a reliable and high available system model for ground stations. This article describes the results of a scientific research on development of a real-time remote sensing data acquisition and archiving system based on local requirements in Iran in which a network storage and archiving model is proposed for high performance data acquisition and preprocessing of real-time satellite data. And then by applying real parameters for a typical mission we conclude that this proposed model is capable to take care of the operations of the ground station for a typical mission and the availability of the equipment to support mission operations is maximized.
