The author discusses the legislation and regulation on environmental matters relating to the food industry and then discusses costs and waste minimisation. The author briefly describes the electrical technologies involved in pollution control and effluent treatment in areas such as mixing, separating liquids and solids, treating soluble organic pollutants and gas stream treatments
