Abstract
UHF Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems are considered in the Near Field/Short Range and Far Field applications. The effect due to the presence of dielectric materials in close contact with the tag antenna is investigated. The efficiency of the UHF RFID antenna is parametrically analyzed by varying the impedance of the integrated circuit (IC) connected to the tag antenna. An investigation on the variation of the IC quality factor is carried out with the purpose to define the best performing configuration of the UHF RFID antenna.
