Abstract
The design of a family of C-band (5.4 to 5.9 GHz) antennas based on a modular design is described. The purpose of this approach is to allow the radar designer to tailor the elevation coverage of the antenna relatively inexpensively. The elimination of clutter caused by ring-round (illumination of large target objects by antenna side lobes) is achieved using a line fed single curvature reflector, where a linear array is used to form the azimuth beam shape and a single curvature reflector the elevation pattern. The incorporation of additional beams or antennas for specific applications is also touched upon
