Abstract
This paper investigate the radiation of a linear antenna placed in the plane of an aperture backed by an absorbing body. Such a structure is a simple model of a linear antenna on the rear window of the car. To compute the field in the aperture we apply the method of moments (MoM). The aperture excitation is modeled by equivalent magnetic currents in the aperture plane. Then the resulting far-field is corrected using the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) to account for the influence of the finite extension of the screen A. The applied method therefore is a hybrid MoM/UTD approach.
