Abstract :
Iris localization is an important step in iris recognition system and performance of the recognition system depends on the accuracy of the localization. In this paper, we have proposed an iris localization method. Here, we identify both outer and inner circular boundary of the iris. The present method has two basic steps: edge points detection and circular Hough transform. Before applying these steps, we define the bounding boxes for iris region and pupil area. Bounding box reduces the searching complexity of the Hough transform and results to a fast localization method.
