Abstract
The orthogonal very minimum chirp keying (OVMCK) is proposed as a novel ultra-narrow band communication scheme. Signal frequency in one bit can be chosen as up-chirp or down-chirp to get orthogonality and the starting phases of the signal can be chosen as either zero or pi / 2 to achieve another kind of orthogonality. Thus OVMCK has four kinds of waveforms and the bit rate is two times the symbol rate. VMCK and OVMCK system simulation results show that their SNRs are 10 dB less than the conventional optimal receiving theory and the bit error rate can reach up to 10e-3 with 10 dB of SNR and 100 bps/Hz of the bandwidth efficiency.
