The `Guide to the Practice of System Engineering´ is an aid to the system engineer in his/her professional practice. The system engineer can turn to the Guide for a check-list of activities for reassurance and guidance on the approach to system engineering and its relationship with other engineering activities. The Guide identifies the role of system engineering; the aim and objectives of system engineering; the activities needed to satisfy the aim and objectives; and the basis for coherent training of system engineers.
