Abstract :
We have presented a perturbation analysis for evaluating the characteristics of the dominant modes in uniform tunnels with cross sections that deviate from the circular shape. So, simple forms are thus obtained for the propagation parameters of the modes in these tunnels. The compact FDTD numerical method is used to assess the degree of accuracy of the proposed perturbation analysis.
