NDT in the European aerospace industry

The author discusses the BAe NDT experience within the European military aircraft industry. It is pointed out that the status of NDT in the modern aerospace industry is changing. It is now an integral part of the production process being utilised at every stage from the qualification testing of raw materials through to the inspection of the finished product, and then beyond into the `in service´ health monitoring of the aircraft structure
