  • Abstract
In the future, electrical systems will be operated closer to their physical limits. This reduces the stability margins and increases risks of generalized incidents, intolerable for the economy and the consumers. Therefore, a better understanding of electrical system dynamic behaviour and stability margins is needed. The EUROSTAG program was developed to answer these needs. It is dedicated to the dynamic simulation of the power systems. The authors describe the EUROSTAG program including solution techniques, online operation and modelling capability. An example of its application to a voltage collapse study is given
