Abstract
DINIS is an interactive graphics based power system analysis program for system planning. The first author discusses its use by the Indian utility in Kanpur and Bangalore for distribution network analysis. The technology transfer involved between British developers of DINIS and the utility is discussed. The second author discusses the use of DINIS in a congested city network, (London) stressing the needs for data collection/entering minimisation, and accuracy of results. The third author gives an overview of interactive network analysis
