Abstract :
This paper deals with an estimation of the impact of ultra wideband (UWB) pulses on printed-circuit-board (pcb) antennas for wireless communication systems using the 2.4 GHz ISM band (e.g. Bluetooth, WLAN or ZigBee). Measurements have been performed by using typical basic pcb antennas (e.g. monopole, dipole) which can be found in general literature. It is shown that the possible reached voltages at the receiver are much higher than normal operating voltages of the system. Therefore influences caused by front door coupling are possible, especially by using UWB pulses with high pulse repetition frequencies.
