Abstract
Advances in spacecraft technology have made feasible the use of large constellations of low earth orbiting (LEO) spacecraft. The 1.5 GHz (L-band), and 2.5 GHz (S-band) regions of the spectrum had been expected to be the most likely frequencies allocated for such services. The present paper reports the progress of a collaborative research project set-up between the University, the UK-Radiocommunications Agency and the European Space Agency (ESA-ESTEC), to obtain propagation information relevant to these systems
