  • Abstract
Numerous applications of social proximity-sensing software have emerged during the last twelve years. We have developed Bluetooth based mobile social software introduction system with the goal to explore the way in which an existing mobile technology could be used to bring people of similar interest together, while not using infrastructure such as Internet or mobile carrier networks. Here we discuss design issues in minimizing infrastructure requirements of mobile social software introduction system as well as privacy, authentication and trust issues of the fully decentralized system that does not have any authentication and/or trust authority.
