Abstract :
A scheme is proposed for the automated edge deburring of refurbished components with intricate geometries. An adaptive routine is presented that gathers a small number of digitized positional data points to construct a differential geometric model with a prescribed accuracy. The affine surface connections, from whence one calculates the Gaussian curvature, are computed and used to determine an edge-profile for the deformed component. The edge-profile defines a tool-path for deburring.<>
