Abstract
In this paper, the authors show the significance of the ponderomotive nonlocal nonlinearity in plasmonics as a source of third-order bulk nonlinearity. It also discusses the second harmonic generation of surface plasmons due to the symmetry breaking of bulk potential by gradient fields.
