Software factory: modeling the improvement

The ability of a software firm to compete equals the ability of its top management to put together software environment engineering and software reuse engineering in order to get a new flexible factory concept, ie., software factory engineering. This concept is formally reviewed, then some basic experiences from Japan, US and Europe´s software factories are briefly recalled and, finally, a reference architecture for the advanced software factory is shown and discussed
