Abstract
The task of signal smoothing is addressed as a special case of signal processing. Despite the fact that the smoothing methods are based on the analytic signal description and work on the quantitative representation of signals, good choice of a method is far from trivial and is based on the qualitative knowledge about the signal and noise. The authors aim is to help the usage of so called order statistics filters. They represent smoothing knowledge using frames
