Title :
Coupling numerical & symbolic techniques for dynamic data validation

Abstract :
A validation scheme has been developed to process aircraft flight data by coupling numerical and symbolic processing techniques. Feature interpretation and qualitative modelling approaches have been adopted since the observed, aircraft sensor network lacked instrumentation redundancy. The development of this application is presented in the context of a generic data reduction hierarchy for which implementation issues are discussed. The system architecture and validation knowledge scheme was mapped from the findings of a set of knowledge elicitation interviews
