Abstract
The computer aided line balance system (ALBS) adopts a procedure that an industrial engineer may follow when developing a manual line balance. It has been developed from personal experience, consultation with practising industrial engineers, and trial and error to provide a viable solution to most line balance conditions found in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry. The data relationships that were identified are presented and briefly discussed along with an outline of the procedure that ALBS uses. The application of ALBS and its user interface are also mentioned
