  • Abstract
    Divalent chromium doped AIIBIV materials are attracting more and more attention during last years as perspective materials for development of efficient tunable mid IR solid-state lasers for different applications. Recent researches on development of continuous wave ZnSe:Cr2+ tunable lasers have demonstrated good results for laser diode pumped YAP:Tm3+ and YLF:Tm3+ optical pumping. The oscillation wavelength of these sources is shifted towards longer wavelength with respect to absorption maximum of Cr24^ ions in ZnSe crystal. To improve the laser efficiency and tuning range new ZnMgSe crystals doped with Cr2+ were suggested in this paper.
