Abstract :
In the 3D conformal array, the different element pattern presents new challenge for the analysis and syntheses of conformal array, since it is not possible to factorize the analytical expression of the array pattern into element factor and array factor. Furthermore, the element pattern is usually defined and designed in the element local coordinates. A spatial rotation is always necessary to find the element pattern in the array global coordinates. Moreover, the polarization properties of the conformal arrays depend, not only on the elements, but also on the curvature of the platform. In fact, elements distributed on a non-planar surface generate serious cross-polarization even if they are all purely polarized. As a result, it is indispensable to consider the element polarized-pattern rotation and an effective method for tackling the serious cross-polarization of conformal array is of great significance.
