Abstract :
Computer systems play a number of vital roles in a modern nuclear power station from maintaining administration records through to the control of the reactor itself. Each role has its own specific characteristics which determine the type of hardware and software best suited to its implementation. Here, the authors describe how Sizewell B has three main classes of computing support systems, and how the ECOS database may be used to manage all three
