Abstract :
The author examines the measurement of steam generator water levels at Sizewell B by describing the following: by way of an introduction, the reasons why steam generator (SG) level measurement is important; the relationship of the measurement to the reactor protection system (RPS), including an overview of the RPS; the measurement principle; discuss the need for wide and narrow range measurements; survey of the differential pressure transmitters used on Sizewell B to provide the measurement; the considerations for installation of the transmitters and associated tubing etc. connecting them to the process; and experience of problems encountered on Sizewell B
