Abstract
Garment Hanger Dryer (GHDryer) is a portable and flexible indoor garment hanger, designed to dry garment efficiently and effectively. It is targeted mainly at high-rise building residents and travelers who crave for immediate drying of their clothes due to limitation to sun exposure. GHDryer offers two main features, cool dry and heat dry. These were achieved through the use of two axial fans attached at both ends of garment dryer hanger and a heat element attached at the center of garment dryer hanger respectively. Fans facilitate the rate of evaporation and clothes would dry faster compared to conditions without fans. As for the heat element, the heat energy increased the rate of evaporation and reduced the time taken for clothes to dry. Catering for a wide variety of users´ needs, GHDryer comes with four operating modes, which are Fan Mode, Heat Mode, Fan and Heat Mode, and Alternating Mode. Fan Mode is the mode that employs cool dry while Heat Mode is the mode that employs heat dry. Fan and Heat Mode employ both cool dry and heat dry. Alternating Mode is a special mode that employs alternate heat dry and cool dry. The drying duration could be set by the user, according to the thickness of garment. After the drying duration, GHDryer would switch to standby mode. In short, GHDryver is a low-cost, user-friendly and environmental friendly garment dryer.
