Dynamic testing of the primary protection system [at Sizewell B]

A programme of dynamic testing of the Sizewell B primary protection system has been instigated as part of the safety demonstration of the equipment performance. The testing is programmed to take place on a representative set of PPS equipment during the later half of 1992 using a test harness developed by Rolls-Royce and Associates Limited. The authors describe the implementation of the dynamic testing system. A brief description of the reactor protection system is included, together with a summary of the overall safety justification for the use of microprocessor technology in the PPS equipment, to put the dynamic testing programme into the context of its application
