Abstract :
The use of heat rejected from the gas cooler of the CO2 transcritical cycle is a very important to improve the performance of the CO2 refrigeration. A thermal driven cooling technology is applied in the desiccant cooling system. The rejection heat of the gas cooler can supply the thermal energy for regeneration of the sorbents. So it is an interesting option to combine the CO2 refrigeration with desiccant cooling system. This paper deals with three main topics: (1) introduces the principle of desiccant cooling and CO2 refrigeration, (2) presents the combination system scheme and characteristics of each component, (3) analyses the cycle coefficient of performance and feasibility. Finally this paper points out that the system can improve the performance of CO2 transcritical cycle effectively and can meet the needs of air conditioning all year round.
